Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the US has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
