Los Angeles Explodes in Celebration as Dodgers Secure Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Massive Turnout
Local celebrations featured a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos depict countless of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy proudly.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” the star player remarked through an interpreter.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and Ice Cube driving a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the field.
Pre-Parade Festivities and Player Reactions
Celebrations began prior to the procession, with supporters lighting flares in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, spoke directly about the win.
“Losing is not an option,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. I love Los Angeles.”

However, Mark Walter received a cooler reception at the rally. Recordings from the gathering seem to depict Walter taking the stage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers interrupting his address.
The championship acted as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
