Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
American entertainer Finn, who appeared in beloved programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA recently following cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a announcement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote online.
The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
